Over the past several years I have been asked which legal related websites pass the most powerful link juice. There are a number of directory and legal websites such as FindLaw, Justia, Lawyers.com, Lawyer.com, SuperLawyers, Martindale Hubbell and others. Before deciding to spend thousands of dollars to become a member of any organization or website it is important to look at your business model and your law firm. Joining an exclusive club is fun and exciting but it can also help with your Google search ranking and the SEO of your legal website.
The Multimillion Dollar Advocate is explained as followers from their website:
Established in 1993, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum (which includes the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum) is one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. There are over 4000 members throughout the country. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members.
Essentially, you have to be one of the best of the best lawyers to be part of this distinguished group. Membership opportunities are as follows (this information is taken directly from the Million Dollar Advocate website):
Million Dollar Advocates Forum
Fee: There is a one-time fee of $1200 for application, certification and life membership. There are no further dues or fees to maintain membership. Applicants must have acted as Principal Counsel in at least one case which resulted in a trial verdict (and final judgment), award or settlement in the present value amount of One Million Dollars or more. See Application For Membership for complete qualifications.
Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum
Fee: There is a one-time fee of $1000 (for members of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum) for application, certification and life membership. There are no further dues or fees to maintain membership. Applicants must have acted as Principal Counsel in at least one case which resulted in a trial verdict (and final judgment), award or settlement in the present value amount of Two Million Dollars or more. Applicants must be current members of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum or applying concurrently for such membership. The fee for concurrent application to both groups is $1700. See Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum for complete qualifications.
So, if you are going to join you are going to spend at least $1000. If you are going to join the Multi-Million Dollar Advocate forum you could be spending close to $3000 or more. So, is this prestigious group worth it?
If you are doing it just for the link juice and SEO value, who really knows. I will never advocate “buying links” and neither does Google. You can quickly get slapped with a Google penalty or possibly get black listed if you are caught buying links to increase your search rankings.
